How does the program work?
Initial Consultation
You will meet with one of our doctors, Dr. Rebecca Cipriano or Dr. Hiedi Vizzoni in Freehold, New Jersey to review your medical history, weight gain history and your Body Mass Index (BMI) will be established. The medically supervised weight loss program that is best suited for you is also determined at that time. Medical clearance from your primary care physician is required to start the weight loss program with medication, however, you can always start the diet plan without medical clearance.
Second Visit
At your second visit you will meet with our physician and our nutritionist in Freehold, New Jersey. A personal weight management plan is created for you which includes a healthy food choice plan, exercise plan, essential dietary supplements, food journal, sample menus and more.
Weekly Visits
You will meet weekly with our nutritionist in Freehold or Colts Neck, New Jersey to monitor your progress, review your week and make any necessary changes to your food and exercise plan in your personalized weight loss program.
What is Body Mass Index (BMI)?
BMI is a statistical measurement which compares a person’s weight and height. It is the most widely used diagnostic tool to identify obesity. Approximately 127 million adults in the US are overweight (BMI>25), 60 million are obese (BMI>30) and 9 million are extremely obese (BMI>40). 67,9% of the male population is overweight in New Jersey and 49,5% of the female population is overweight in New Jersey.
Are weight loss medications prescribed?
The short-term use of FDA approved weight loss medication can be provided after medical clearance. The medication is an appetite suppressant that helps curb cravings during the first four weeks of a patient’s personalized program.
What if I need to speak to someone before my weekly visit?
You can contact our nutritionist in our Freehold or Colts Neck office in New Jersey any day during normal business hours and be seen more than once per week if necessary.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
Initially most patients taking the FDA approved weight loss medication are losing an average of 5-7 lbs per week and those not taking the medication still lose an average of 3-5 lbs per week.
Can I go out to eat while on the program?
Absolutely! With our program there is no pre-packed food, counting calories or weighing your food. The program teaches healthy shopping, meal preparation, and eating habits with nutritious fresh foods. Our nutritionist will also provide guidance to help you make healthy choices when dining out.
What happens if I obtain my goal weight during the program?
Patients achieving their goal weight while enrolled in the program will receive maintenance for one year @ a reduced rate and they can come to our Freehold or Colts Neck office in New Jersey.
Will my insurance cover the cost of the program?
A Better You Weight Management Center in Freehold or Colts Neck, New Jersey is a fee-for-service provider and payment is expected prior to starting the program, however, we will provide a weight management diagnosis letter and an invoice for you to submit to your insurance. It is best that you contact your insurance company to determine whether or not you have out-of-network benefits for a medically supervised weight loss program.
What are my payment options with the program?
A Better You Weight Management Center in Freehold or Colts Neck, New Jersey is a fee-for-service provider and payment is expected prior to starting the program. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express). We also offer a financing through Care Credit, which allows you to be able to pay for the program on a monthly basis. In addition, some employers offer Flexible Spending PlansĀ (often called Health Savings accounts) which uses pre-tax dollars to defray the cost of non-reimbursed medical expenses.
What if I cancel my initial consultation?
We require a credit card number at the time of scheduling your initial consultation in Freehold, New Jersey. We require 48-hours notice for any cancellations or your credit card will be charged.

Dr. Cipriano is a board certified Medical Doctor who has been in private practice for over ten years. With a Masters Degree in Clinical Nutrition, she is passionate about helping patients achieve a healthy lifestyle. How long has Dr. Hiedi Vizzoni been practicing medicine?
Dr. Hiedi Vizzoni is a board certified Family Practice physician who has been in private practice for over 9 years. Her mission is to help people change their lives to live a happier life. She found the perfect place to fulfill her mission at A Better You Weight Loss Center in Freehold, New Jersey.
Will my insurance plan cover a weight management program?
We do not participate with insurance. It depends on your out-of-network benefits and your plan with your insurance company. We provide you with a letter that states we are treating obesity, in which you will submit to your insurance and find out if they will reimburse a certain percentage. If you are uncertain if you have out-of-network benefits you will want to contact your insurance company to see what plan you have. We are not able to receive information about your plan from your insurance company.
